IrelandBEAUTIFUL and Comfortable but very unusual sizing
Firstly, I love Hella Heels and have multiple pairs (who doesn't?!) but I splashed out to get my first pair of thigh-highs. I was expecting the legs to be snug but they're actually very loose and I have I would say average legs. I'm 170cm (5"7) with muscular legs. I found the laces HAD to lace until they were fully closed over and pulled to get any sort of snug fit on the boots and I was in leggings AND knee pads under the boot too for extra padding. The shoe itself was swimming on my feet. I normally buy 39 EU or 6 UK and always fit perfectly with HH (I have an average foot width) but these felt more like a UK7 or 8 with the way they were allowing my feet to slide up and down and side to side. Now, I will say these are soft fabric, not patent shoes so I do think that has something to do with it. I would suggest sizing down for this design weirdly enough. The photos of the colour are also not super accurate. I love the witchy purple they are but they're not what I was expecting at all from the photos that suggest its more of a blue/purple Things I love: Beautiful fabric padded tongue every part covered in high quality fabric great for floor work as there's no stick to them at all Top of boot stays securely on your thigh (even though mine were loose) great movement for low squat or sitting on your legs/feet etc. very pliable. Things I didn't like / would change: Sizing was unusual and far too big I wish there was some sort of suggest thigh measurement or note that these fit differently to their standard boots The colour was very purple rather than mermaid blue/purple. Things I'm worried about: Fabric stretching even more from how loose it is to begin with Tumbling over my ankle as there is no foot /ankle support due to the soft fabric and sizing which is super unlike HH Things I will do in the future: Buy patent finish thigh highs or size down for fabric finish. Final thought: I recommend this product based on high quality finish but be aware they fit very differently to the patent finish boot.

Hi Genevieve, Thank you so much for your review and ongoing support! Regarding the fit, you are spot on with the fabric having something to do with it! We advise in our size guide that fabric affects fit. So a softer fabric such as Mermaid might feel more roomy, but comes at a trade off of being more pliable and not movement limiting. With regards to the colour, it can be difficult to capture metallic colour, as the look of it changes with the angle! Glad you love it regardless though. Team Hella x

IrelandRuns large but very easy wear
Overall I'm delighted with the look and feel of the fabric. The shoe of the boot runs VERY big and I found the thighhigh part to be quite large too. I would say I have average size legs and I had to lace the boots as tight as they would go and I had leggings on under them. They were soft on the legs and had great movement; I had full flexibility in them. The no grip was great for floor work too. Honestly the 4 of 5 stars is for how large they run. I'd suggest sizing down. I actually found them unsafe to too much footwork as my foot *** swimming in the shoe. I'm a size 39 EU in HH and always have been. Same in other brands so I bought my standard size for these. I should have considered the softer fabric maybe and gone down to 38 Visually stunning though. More witch purple than mermaid blue in person though. Recommended if size down and for floor work. Not recommended if you need pole grip
